AteriskNOW is a pre-built linux distro to run with asterisk installed. AsteriskNOW makes it easy to create custom telephony solutions by automatically installing the "plumbing." It's a complete Linux distribution with Asterisk, the DAHDI driver framework, and, the FreePBX administrative GUI. Much of the complexity of Asterisk and Linux is handled by the installer, the yum package management utility and the administrative GUI. With AsteriskNOW, application developers and integrators can concentrate on building solutions, not maintaining the plumbing. This video is aimed at showing you how to install asteriskNOW. You can download it from the download page on the website: http://www.asterisk.org/

Showing a remote reboot of the 6 mini ITX computer servers that make up the Asterisk PBX for a Zetron MAX Call-Taking phone system. SuperPuTTy allows for remote status and programming of the Linux servers. This is one of the most convoluted VoIP telephony systems I have ever dealt with. The package ships with two Cisco 2960 switches, if they had included a Cisco router and it was licensed and capable of Call Manager or Call Manager Express, it would be a better system. Zetron is still trying to work out the basic bugs on the Call-Taking and Radio Dispatch "MAX" systems, and Kenwood is having siilar problems with their 5000 series radios. Zetron is part of the JVC/Kenwood...
